I finally get to change the disclosure at the end of this now daily post. In a just released SEC filing Sears’ (SHLD) Chairman Eddie Lampert upped his AutoNation (AN) stake to 71.245 million shares or 39.9% of the total.
Combined with my purchase of AutoNation shares today, Lampert and I effectively have control of, well, 39.9% and change (small change) of the company giving us a controlling interest in the nations largest auto retailer….
So this is what power feels like…… 🙂

Well, they already control the votes – and my guess is we will see a private buy-out leaving all other shareholders required to sell their shares on the cheap – then when the market is ready – they will either put back on market – or sell to Sears. Shareholders are selling to cheap – look at or calculate the value based on free cash flow and a few projections – when retail picks up this will be a cash machine – look at how well they are doing in this market – and the share buy-backs will only add to cash flow per share – this stock should be a $25 stock now – and $35 in a couple years.
