Interesting article in the WSJ pointing out that holders of CMBS backed by GGP mortgages may be an obstacle to GGP working out its financing issues. While the big lenders are motivated to restructure and extend maturities, owners of CMBS paper may not be. I wonder what the potential of this issue is for forcing an eventual liquidation.
