ASA Temp Staffing Climbs in March

The survey means the US employment picture continues to get better

Staffing employment in March is 9% higher than in the same month last year, according to the ASA Staffing Index.

The index for March is 91, up one index point from 90 in February, suggesting that U.S. staffing employment has increased 1% over the past month. Staffing employment is typically lowest during the first few months of each year and grows throughout the subsequent months

We said throughout most of 2010 that we would see improvement in the NFP in Q4 2010 and Q1 2011 of this year based on the readings we were getting from the ASA survey. That has been born out to date. Continued improvement here means continued NFP improvement. One should expect the employment situation to continue to improve through Q2. With that we should see continued economic recovery.
