Jamba Gets “Parents Magazine” Nod…

This comes off yesterday’s “Good Morning America” oatmeal kudos for Jamba

Jamba-Branded Novelty Bars Acknowledged as a Parent and Child Favorite by Parents Magazine
Jamba-Branded Yogurt and Sorbet Bars Recognized As One of the Top 25 Best Healthy Eating Snacks for Kids

EMERYVILLE, Calif., Feb 09, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) —

Jamba Juice Company (NASDAQ:JMBA), a highly recognized healthy, active lifestyle brand, received the nod of approval from Parents Magazine in its February issue, which counted the Jamba-branded Yogurt and Sorbet Bars among their Parents 25 Best Snacks for 2011. Products that made the list were identified by four nutrition experts and then taste-tested by 200 kids while parents voted for products that were the most convenient and easy to eat on-the-go.

The experts reviewed packaged product ingredients for calorie count, fat, sugar, salt, and vitamin content to ensure the products were deemed healthy. While they identified 50, the kids selected only 20 as their top picks, while Mom’s selected five for their own personal portfolio of favorites–comprising Parents Magazine list of 25 Best Snacks.

Among the three products selected in the Dairy Smarts category -for kids who aren’t milk drinkers–were the Jamba-branded Yogurt and Sorbet Bars, which come in three delicious flavors–Vanilla Strawberry Jubilation(TM), Vanilla Blueberry-Pomegranate Perfection(TM), and Coconut Pineapple Passion Smashin'(TM). These low-fat frozen novelty snack bars have only 80-90 calories per bar, are made with premium, real fruit and all natural ingredients, provide a good source of Vitamin C, and contain pre-biotic fiber and probiotic cultures, which are good for digestion. The bars–like all Jamba Juice products–contain no artificial colors, flavors, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives.

Loved by both parents and children alike who tested them, the Jamba Yogurt and Sorbet Bars are so tasty they aren’t exactly made for sharing…”I tried to get a lick and my 2-year-old shouted, ‘Don’t eat my ice cream’,” said one mom quoted in Parents Magazine.

“We are thrilled to have our Yogurt and Sorbet Bars recognized by a renowned publication like Parents Magazine,” said Julie Washington, vice president and general manager, Jamba Consumer Products, Jamba Juice Company. “We wanted to create a product that is the perfect after school (or work) snack that you won’t feel guilty about eating. The Yogurt and Sorbet Bars satisfy the growing need for a better-for- you treat and bring Jamba’s fun, delicious, high quality products we offer in-store, to your home.”

The Jamba-branded frozen novelties, which are manufactured under license by Oregon Ice Cream LLC out of Eugene, Oregon, are available in select retailers across the nation. The suggested retail pricing is $3.99 for a box of four 2.5oz bars.
