Rail Traffic Continues Trend

Total N. American rail traffic checked in at 676K cars last week, virtually flat over last weeks 673K cars. All categories were essentially unchanged to up slightly except for auto’s which saw a 7.5% increase and coal which saw a similar decrease.

Of the carriers, $CSX saw a 3.8% decline in traffic that was offset by increase of 2.7% at $BNI (the number of cars up/down was the same, BNI just has a higher base level of traffic so the the % are diff.). The others were essentially unchanged
